About us

OUR STORY
For over 40 years GPS has excelled in developing and distributing the best polymer based materials.

1980's
During this period, GPS developed its first Ivory Alternative , and began working with several ecological and conservation groups. The mission was simple; Assist these groups in preventing Ivory poaching, whilst being able to provide a high end alternative material.
1990's
The Ivory alternative that was developed in the 80's was now becoming extremely popular worldwide, and after a final adjustment to its grain, Ivory Alternative colour 849/TM was born.
This product has been used all over the world, within maybe restoration projects and continues to be used to this day.

2000's
We added more thermoset polyester resin products to compliment the Ivory Alternative 849/TM. These consisted of alternatives for Tortoiseshell, Horn and Ebony. Around this time, we had also starting working with a prestigious UK manufacturer of writing instruments called Conway Stewart. This was the companies first commercial introduction to cast acrylic resin.

2010's
Now under the new ownership of Matt Roff, he saw a future in developing cast acrylic, mostly due to its versatility. Investments were made in developing a host of new colours, this lead to the birth of our brand KIRINITE, which was launched in the USA in 2012 in conjunction with our long standing partner Eagle Grips. Again this has since established world wide product.

2020's
GPS continues to grow and expand with key focus on both the design and music sectors. Matt and Alison (co director), look forward to taking the company to new heights during this period.
